Homeland Security – Designated Safety Act
Woodsboro Bank Video Transcripts
Catherine Meyers: “My name is Catherine Meyers. I am a Assistant Vice President and the business development officer for Woodsboro Bank. The extra security provided by the door system definitely has given us piece of mind because we have easy access to the highway and I feel for the customers and the employees it was a necessity. During the Y2K crisis we did think about having guards for the bank. Um, because of extra cash on hand, but since we have the doors, ah, the security has obviously become greater for us and we feel no need for any guards. We like the appearance of the doors because it does not deter from the architectural design of the building and they blend in as if they were meant to be. The system has met our expectations, and ah, we feel has done what we’ve asked it to do, and ah, and more.”
Narrator: “Isotec Security develops integrated solutions broadly categorized as weapons, access or material control systems. Isotec and USC – Entrance Control Video Transcripts
My name is Dave Rohrbacker. I’m a security specialist with Red Hawk Industries. The Isotec entrance control unit is a very intricate part Red Hawk security program.
The entrance control unit creates a sense of confidence within not only your customers but your employees and anyone who enters the facility. Once the system is installed, we have found that it creates a very secure, safe environment for not only the customer but also your employees. They’re very user friendly, they are very easy to use once the customer understands on they how the work and they operate, they feel very comfortable and secure with the operation unit. Once installed the value proposition of the Isotec entrance control unit is much more effective than hiring a guard service.
Aesthetics are very important to the not only the customer but they are also important to building departments and other jurisdictions that control how the building should look. Isotec specializes in the ability to adapt to any particular environment. Red Hawk Recommends the Isotec entrance control unit as a proactive approach to any security program.

J: “How do they work? It seems terribly complex.”
D: “The way that they work are two interlocking doors and between them is a metal detector. The doors have twelve hundred pound magnetic locks, and when someone enters the facility, they are detected immediately. They then have to clear screening through the metal detector and once doing that, the door in front of them will unlock simultaneously. The door that they entered through from the outside locks. What this does is even though the metal detector was unmanned we’ve prevented a weapon from entering the building.”
J: “Do some customers feel like it might be troublesome to have to wait to go through the one-person-at-a-time facility?”
D: “First of all, depending on the requisites of the customer, more than one person can go through the control unit as long as both people clear the screening. Ah, this allows for parents to go through the units with their children or those people that require personal assistance to go through. All of our units are 88 compliant as well as meeting local fire codes. Typically, it takes no more than two to three seconds to go through one of our units and that is a function of the door opening and the door closing.”
J: “So what type of customer seeks your products and your services?”
D: “The common denominator for our customers are people that are looking for elevated security. Um, more times than not, they are looking for that 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Ah, government agencies, military installations, banks, credit unions, state and municipal facilities, ah, as well as schools.”
J: What are the unique features of the Isotec security systems? It sounds really impressive.
D: Our most unique feature that we have is called icon and what icon is, is a graphic interfaced display that allows a single point of control for a wide variety of components and devices through a security network for facilities management. Now this might not be appropriate for a bank, but for a government facility like a courthouse, for a military installation such as an army base or an air force base, this type of system will then come into play. It allows one person to monitor the entire facility through graphic displays, even though the devices used might not necessarily communicate with each other, they are all relayed in to the same system.
J: “What are the qualitative benefits to consider when someone is considering your security systems?”
D: “If you are a banker or credit union, no bank or credit union has ever been robbed successfully that has been using one of our systems. If you’re a government agency, we work 24/7. We don’t take breaks. Ah, I should say our systems don’t take breaks, they don’t take holidays, they don’t call in sick and they don’t escalade in cost year after year.”
J: “Fantastic. It’s been a fascinating conversation and you’ve certainly given us a lot to think about so David, thanks very much for sharing your time with us.”
D: “Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.”
J: “And thank you for watching. Until next time, for 21st Century Business, I’m Jackie Bales.”
